Introducing our Tree Frog T-shirt! Did you know the Cope’s Gray tree frog and Eastern Gray tree frog are practically identical in appearance? But, there is one key difference—their songs. The Cope’s Gray has a loud, rapid trill, while the Eastern Gray has a more melodious, rolling trill. These frogs are masters of disguise, changing colors to blend into their environments. The forests and wetlands of the Appalachian region—especially in Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia—are the perfect home for these adaptable creatures. If you live in one of these areas with trees and water in your backyard, chances are, one of these frogs is your neighbor! Frogs make great neighbors, offering free pest control and serving as indicators of environmental health.
